Axle replacement
hello everyone i need to get a new CV axle for the non 4matic version and every website i go on its always for the front CV axle the only one i found was on the Mercedes parts warehouse website and it was $800 for a single axle
what i want to know from you guys is if i buy a CV axle for a 4matic for the rear would it work i need it for the passenger side of the car in the rear
please get back to me because i can get them for the rear in 4matic version for a lot cheaper and if i dont have to spend $800 i dont really want to

I would bet $10 the joint itself is the same, but in US you can't buy it separately and axles have different length, therefore different part numbers.
What's wrong with the old one? They usually last lifetime, although expecting more than 20 years from rubber boot is a stretch.

It met a slow death it has i rip in the boot right behind the wheel and the bearing is wearing out from dirt getting inside and all the grease seeped out too so the whole axle needs replaced
I did do a bit more digging around the internet and fount that the CV axle is only for the 4 matic in the front the axle i need is a drive axle and i think i found one that will work i will keep you guys posted and i can try to get the picture i took up on this post as well so you guys can see the damage
