Cold when temp > 70

Greetings,

Our E320 is a delight. The only thing we can't quite figure out is the climate control. When we have Economy off, the temp out side is mid 50's and the temp is set to 70+ we still get cold air. We have to turn Economy on in order to get to warm air. I'm used to the auto climate in our Jeep where it knows when to turn the airconditioning on and off due to inside and outside temperature and you are kept warm or cold without changing temp/blower/etc.

Did you have the settings to Auto? I never had a problem with Economy off. Try hitting the Auto button for both sides of the car then make sure EC is off. You should see Auto displayed on the control screen.

We have Auto turned on one side and not on the other - as where the blower directs air (feet vs. face vs. windshield) is not always desired. We'll try both on Auto on the next cool day and see if that works.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I agree that the vent choice may not be the best all the time but it will switch the vents at certain points to best circulate the air. So just because it starts blowing to the windshield, doesn't mean it will always stay there. Typically when heating the car, it senses the temp and starts with the windshield (assuming moisture buildup on the windshield) then diverts air to other vents.
