Price quote for inner and outer tie rods replacement.
Anyone has an idea how much it would cost to replace all tie rods (inner and outer) on both sides?
I had it in an indie shop for an oil change and he said that the tie rods are “starting” to go bad.
His quote was $900 and it includes an alignment.
My tire wear seems normal and it drive just fine at the moment.
I have 203K miles on the car, so is it normal at this mileage for it starting to go bad?
Thanks

I just replaced the outers on my '97 E 300 D. (260K) Since I did it myself I can't advise you, but I doubt the inners are bad based on my experience. Alignment cost me $165 but could be much higher in big cities.

I can look it up in WIS to get the proper procedure to be done. And correct torque specs. As for time I can find out what the dealer goes off of. I know for a simple battery replacement can take almost an hour in the 166 and 222s. That’s including having to connect the vehicle to Xentry and do a diagnos of it to see why the battery needs to be changed if there’s any ongoing issues

Reason was car (4matic) was pulling to the right on freeway. Could not align without replacing inner tie rods. I replaced all because there was no additional labor to do it. Inners were quite worn.
