98 E320 210 Power Seats
Both power seats and steering wheel adjustments have stopped working fuses look OK. Mechanic wants to replace both seat modules for $$$$. I think it is something else. Any thoughts, also has anyone been able to manually adjust the drivers seat?

For starters, test power at the fuses with a test light first.
What are the chances of BOTH modules dying on you, at the same time? Your indie $ee$ opportunity.
Also check the seat controls (in the doors) to see if you have power there too.
Read here for more info.

If the OP thinks it’s something else then diagnose it... or find another mechanic for a second option.
I start with powers, grounds and check bidirectional control if this module is accessible. Not familiar if it’s a module like W212 or basic switch group like W124 era.
