2001 E320 Torque Converter Lockup?
Hello, I recently replaced the conductor plate on my 2001 E320 and unfortunately another issue has followed. During the fill process for the new transmission fluid the car seemed to go in and out of gears perfectly (although it stayed in first and reverse). Once the fluid level was sufficient I took it for a test drive. The car seemed to be acting fine.. and was shifting quite well.. until I hit the stop light down the road. The car stalled at the intersection as if the torque converter wouldn’t disengage.. there now appears to be a grinding sound coming from the torque converter while the engines running (even in park and neutral). The vehicle now stalls when put in reverse or drive. I’m going to remove the valve body again, but my question is what exactly should I look for in order to troubleshoot this issue? I did not test the solenoids as no issue seemed to be caused by them or disassemble the valve body to clean it.. should I start there? I do have a scanner that can read/erase transmission codes but unfortunately it’s not throwing any. Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you
Thank you

observation: there are many folks who toss out opinions about car repair. some are guesses and gambles.
one of the few experts on MB w210 transmissions goes by the sobriquet "Mava" on the w210 forum over

1. What mileage and when you did conductor plate how did the old fluid/old filter look and smell ? Any metal in the old fluid ?
2. Did you replace tranny adapter plug with genuine MB/MOPAR ($14) with your conductor plate replacement ?
3. Did you pull Transmission Control Module (TCM) from engine compartment and do full "flood cleaning" both sides (and connector) with 1/2 can of MAF spray ?
4. Have you properly measured tranny fluid level ?
5. Have you checked color of coolant - is coolant milky or oily ?
