Trans in limp, P0700 only. No ESP function
2000 E430 4matic 184k miles.
Drove car once after getting on road and drove fine.
I knew I needed a conductor plate for trans cause I had input speed sensor code. But drove ok.
The next day I broke the key. Had it fixed but lock smith(not dealer key, regret) and the next time I drove it it was in limp with P0700 only.
So did the usuals, new conductor plate, plug, cleaned trans fluid out of TCM connector.
Replaced TCM too.
Same problem.
I take off in 1st. Shifts to 2nd then drops to 3rd and stays there. That happens every time stop and restart the car.
Now the only thing I see that’s steering me towards ESP or ABS module is the ESP does not react when I hit button near shifter to turn it off.
If I lift all wheels in air and spin it the system kits in like I’m skidding.
So WTF?
I have not tried unplugging the other modules yet.
Of just pay MB to clear and reset everything?

But some thing I found was in the ignition switch some of the wires on the harness are cut and spliced and re-routed. So I think I’m losing some signal there and this might turn out to be just a bad key issue.
