2002 E320 4matic wagon
window not rolling up or down or staying up
my passenger rear window would not function and would not stay up, so I took the door apart and found this spring cord thing. any ideas what this is and if it could be causing the window failure?

Replace the entire window regulator assembly.

the whole, articulated, scissors-like thing, sans motor, is only about $30-50 from
an aftermarket company. it's not as if the genuine, MB product is that much better, anyway
