Rear License plate wire
So I finally got around to removing the rusted on license plate screws and license plate from the previous owner and I found this wire, I'm not sure if I'm just searching the wrong terms but I cannot find what this is supposed to be for. May I get some help?

not factory item so I'm willing to bet that the previous owner installed something like extra lights,
back up camera, or some device. so you'll probably have to end up performing more explorary
such as tracing the wire to its origin for more clues
