2001 E320 Wagon Test Ride: Huge puddle behind driver seat
I will keep simple. I went to test drive a wagon and it drove great, but thought I hear swishing water and sure enough behind drivers side, huge puddle of water. PO says never saw this before. I licked it and it was not too bitter like coolant, really tasted like water instead.
Anyway, I think a heater core job in this series of cars requires dash removal correct?
Or should I look at washe fluid being the culprit and maybe an easy fix and good negotiating issue instead of it being a heater core?

Out Of Control!!
Yes it does, however remember that engine coolant is used to provide the heat-------if you had that big a leak the car would have gotten real hot quickly--in any event I would let some other sap who has to drive an MB steal the cream puff

I ended up purchasing the car. I ruled out it is not heater core with above advice. there was a really bad rain the day prior to the sale. worth taking a risk I thought for 1000$ sale price we agreed on, which is about how much car is worth.
Now, sloshing isreally bad. To make things worse, an EPS/traction/brake assist malfunction came up. I am worried water got into "important stuff." I will keep this thread updated. The water is trapped in the bodywork I can hear it on the driver side.

the car is crazy complicated in my opinion with the hydraulic suspension. I think there is a button to raise it or am I just imagining things?

It was the drain that is behind the master cylinder.
I do think my issues with ESP/BAS are related to brake switch and not water.
she is drying out for now
