Battery mfg. date

Hey Guys,

I could use some help deciphering the code etched on the side of my MB battery (0EM). It reads B62FB.

I’d appreciate the help.

Thanks!

-Rob

Call any MB dealer and give their parts guy your VIN. Should be able to tell you install date. Also, side or rear of battery will usually have a month/year sticker from dealer.

Ok thanks, I will check the sides but pretty sure there was no sticker like the Interstate MTP in my other car.

No surprise the MB dealerships around here are bloody clueless.

Cheers.

Do you need a new battery or looking for a replacement under warranty? It's not a specific battery than can only be purchased from a dealer. You can buy the size and amp battery needed at many auto parts stores and even Walmart.

i wonder if the OP is simply looking for the battery mfg date ... and if so, the code may not have been the correct one to read....yet?

Correct! I’d like to confirm the battery mfg date based off the code etched on the top part of it. Pretty sure B62FB is the indicator; I cannot find anything else. A few of my old Bosch batteries had the code etched in a similar fashion.

I plan on taking it to AutoZone this weekend to have my battery and alternator tested.

Thanks.

Look on the top of the negative post. There is usually a date stamp there.

90% of the M-B batteries I've seen since Interstate became the distributor have that stamping.

Pretty sure the etched date is 02/06: https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...y-battery.html

Too many intermittent things popping up lately. I took it over to AutoZone for testing and they said it was good although I am not a believer. The temps dropped quite a bit recently in VA which I was reminded of the other day. Now the LCD on my instrument cluster is acting up and the driver side seat controls. Checked all fuses.. I’m replacing it regardless for the peace of mind

Cheers.

Interstate now makes the batteries for Mercedes. Check with your local dealer for a "blem" battery, MTP 49/H8. I got mine for $60. Retails for $179. Blem usually has a few scratches or may have been installed when problem was a bad alternator, etc. Interstate takes em back no questions, makes sure they are good. You dont get the warranty, but the price is right.
