p0335... already changed the CPS... no start, please help

p0335... already changed the CPS... no start, please help
i have a 96 e420. my dad recently passed away and he was a master mechanic, could fix anything and everything. we have our own 2post lift on our property. im not a mechanic, but ive managed to fix some stuff some fulltime mechanics couldnt (or they said they fixed, you know how that goes). id like to keep our cars maintained as he would have if he were still here.
anyways, the e420 had a no start problem. it cranks like a champ, but no start. it had a code p0335 (crankshaft sensor) so i changed into a bosch unit. the fuel pump has also been changed into a bosch unit as well. i also recharged the battery just to be safe.
car started up fine this morning. drove for about 20min. the car was great, no hesitation or any problems i noticed during the drive. no CEL.
anyways, after being parked for about 45min or so, the car again wouldnt start. its throwing off the same p0335 sensor. since i was parked behind a autozone, i decided to buy and use a electronic connection cleaner from CRC just as another attempt but still nothing.
had the car towed home.
only code is the p0335.
what are my other possibilities? what else could it possibly be?
