Would the shocks from 2000 E55 AMG fit on a 1997 E420 Sport?
Also would cutting coil cause ride quality issues?

When I put in the information for my car I got these.

The website does not say they are cross comparable but they look similar. Would they fit?

Plug in your ride info in to the links you provided to verify fitment. If you need more, contact the seller to re-confirm.
As for cutting springs, not a fan of cutting springs (some members may say THEY have had +ve results with cutting springs).
Final decision is up to you.
Do a search on the forum - you'll find plenty of mixed results.

The shocks should fit fine. The e55 has different springs so I cant speak to how it will ride.

I cut the coils on my old 4-matic because there was no other option for lowering. I only cut one coil off and it did not really affect the ride but from what I have heard the more you cut the worse it gets. You can get Vogtland lowering springs for around $200 on ebay.
