Starmark question
My brother decided to take off and play soldier in the desert and left a 2000 E320 in my driveway. It has this Starmark coverage. I noted that:
º smartkey does not open/close windows,
º the dash door lock switch does not activate the lock-shut mode,
º when the key is in the ignition (engine off) the darn dinging interferes w/radio listening,
º interior light does not come on when door opened (yes, tried various switch settings),
º rear/front lights do not signal upon lockdown using smartkey,
Are these the type of features which are covered by Starmark warranty? I
figured I'd ask this group before I take the dealer's word for anything in blind
faith.
Oh yes, when coming to a stop (in DRIVE), there is heavy compression stopping, ie in first gear. But just before I come to a stop (approx 5mph), I feel a big release in the tranny as if it snaps out of 1st. Is this a 'feature' of the smart-voodoo-tranny-learning-the-driving-habit thing I read about? I am an extremely smooth driver. Bro laughs and says I drive like an old man so I don't think I'm a leadfoot, hard on brakes kind of driver which would manifest in the form of harsher tranny shifts. I have a 99 E320 and tranny shifts are like butter.

p.s. 1:30am this morning and I hear a slight noise outside. Turned off lights and peeked out window. Saw someone underneath bro's 2000 E320 parked in the driveway. Call 911 and within 1 min, 5 cars, K9 and firetruck arrive. One dude jets and tackled (had a boo-boo, ergo firetruck). The other dude is cool, pretending to be one of the neighbors watching the activity. I call K9 and alert him to the 'innocent bystander' and they take him to the ground. That was one scary GS dog. Built like Ah-nohld - brickhouse with 4 legs.
Car was in process of being raised by 3 scissor jacks. Figured they were going for the factory, option rims. Fearful of repeat, I move it into the garage and .....sigh...move my baby '99 outside, the one with 10 spoke old people's wheels (gawd, I gotsta get me some rims).

Told dispatcher I was next door to the new Krispy Cream. ;-) I grew up around LEO types in the family so I guess I used the proper vernacular such that prompts their prey drive. heh heh...
