fuel pump noise
Hi ,
My 2002, W210, E320, 4MATIC wagon has a loud noise coming from the fuel system. The filter is a singular assembly, however the fuel pump appears to be inside the tank. Anybody have info or experience with this?

Hello! When I looked it up, it appears that for a W210 E320 4Matic, the fuel pump is outside of the tank, near the filter.

As for the fuel pump noise, you could maybe try jacking the car up a bit and taking the plastic cover off of the pump and filter. Then, you could have someone prime the car and you could check more accurately if the noise is coming directly from the pump. A fuel pressure test wouldnt hurt too. And if you do decide you wanna replace the pump, its not too expensive and the filter is good maintenance too, especially if the car has a lot of miles.

If you do replace the FP and FF, it's recommended to go OEM like pierburg for the FP and hengst for the FF.
Pierburg is a more $$ vs. the generic FPs, and more reliable.
