Check Engine light

A few months ago the check engine light came on, I unplug the battery and it's gone, now it's came back and few hour later it's gone, this morning the CEL came on again.

Car ran fine and did not notice any lost of performance.

Can some one share some advise.

Car is 1999 E320 with 69K mile

TIA

does autozone still reading the code for free ?. how hard to replace O2 sensors, I believe there are 2 required in the car, can they telll which one is bad.

Assume if the O2 is bad, how would you notice the performance of the car ?

TIA

I'm guessing it's a sensor also. I've had this problem before on older MBs. It does not effect drivability or performance to any great extent. I would have it checked out by your dealer/service though, not an emergency.
