Bulb advice

Apologies if I'm starting a new thread for an old topic, but I'm trying to find the specs for a replacement bulb for the passenger footwell courtesy lamp. I have a 2002 E320 Base Sedan. Many thanks.

Hi,

This is the part number for the footwell ambient light lamp. Plenty of options if you Google it.

A 220 820 11 01

Thanks. That appears to be the lamp assembly. Do you know the specs on the bulb that it holds? This is my dilemma.

why not just pop the bulb out and take a look. by the way, when I plug the p/n provided above, I see this
it's possible that the bulb is used in more than one location

oh, that makes sense. If you're lucky, it uses a bullet bulb in which the lamp socket is about an inch apart.
If you see that this is so, you get a little wiggle room. Just measure the distance between the contacts right
at the center (where the pointy bulb ends would be secured) and add a millimeter or two for tension.

you have the option of replacing filament bulb or LED.

my 1999 does not have this feature so I am unable to measure what would be there for facelift w210

dadof39: unless you have some oddity, that part number DOES reference the bulb. it is a bulb/socket combo as far as I can tell.

the wiring terminates at a female pigtail and the socket/lens/bulb is all one unit under the glove box.

you may have figured it out by now
