Window scratches
Hi everyone-
I have a 02' E430 4MATIC and I am going to have to do some work on my front driver side window, there are a few problems, squeaks, thuds over bumps, and recently it just went off it's track:\ My question rather is regarding the glass window. There are vertical scratches on it on both the driver and passenger windows. Has anyone ever polished those out? Or if I buy new glass windows, how could I prevent those from appearing again on the outside? Or is it just a common thing we can't control? I figure since I'm in there maybe just change out the glass.

It would be pure speculation as to what caused the scratches but I'll wager that it has to do with crap
caught in between the window and the rubber scraping/weather stripping. Each time the window is
cycled, the crap etches the glass. How to prevent? It's relatively easy to remove the door liner and
pull the weather stripping and inspect and clean. Be sure you inspect both in/outside strips
