Year? Model? VIN? Wire colors? Do you have the schematic/install instructions for the unit you removed? That would explain what it was for.

No schematic, the unit was an alpine ilx-107. Attached more pics of the wires, and all the female stock adapters. Car is an 02 E55

Matt.

what was black/yellow spliced into on the aftermarket harness?

if you have a signal generator/pick up...you can try sending a tone to, say, the black/yellow and locate the other end

here's the aftermarket harness, the red was spliced into the black/yellow for power, others were tied into the factory harness. Anymore ideas on what that factory connector is for? Aftermarket radio had new mic and rear camera.

So I was attempting to install some sort of BT into the car. I have a 30pin BT adapter i have in my other cars, was looking to use the aux in the glove box for this. At first it wasn't working, tore apart everything, its all plugged in. Come to find out that the aux is just traditional, no power going to the port. Ive seen some adapters that replace the C2 connector with a BT adapter... Is there a way to add power to the aux, or has anyone tried these BT adapters? Or is there another interface that I could swap out the CD changer for? Im not so much worried about steering wheel functionality, just the streaming through stereo.

Thanks!
