Mercedes Benz E320 Avantgarde W210
W210 Transmission Problem

Hello MB World
am a new user. I have a Mercedes Benz w210 E320 1997. About a year or so, the coolant and Transmission oil mixed and Water got into the Transmission. I send it to a guy and he fixed it. It worked about 70%. But now the car is having struggles to shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear it goes revv up to 3,500 rpms, unless I shift down to the 2nd gear with the Shifter. And the shift between the 2nd and 3rd gear there's a gap of empty ( the gear shift to 3rd but it revvs also high revvs depending on the force I apply on the Gas paddle)
any help please. The transmission costs 750$. Some told me it's a conductor plate and some told me it needs to be rebuilt again.

This is the Shifter. And the Transmission Number

That guy, obviously, did not scan and provide you a report.
And obvious "this guy" was not qualified.
Working 70% of the time is not = to 100% of the time.
Damage is done, imo, and the issue is still present.
Do yourself a favor and post your saved codes here.
You need to flush out all the fluid from the transmission. There's a possibility of permanent damage.
Both fluids will need to be changed
Verify your radiator is good.

depending on how long and how many miles you put on the tranny with coolant in fluid the clutch plates could have been damaged and therefore a rebuild or another transmission will be required

My 98 E320 was stuck in 2nd gear. My mechanic wanted to replace the transmission. These transmissions are supposed to be sealed for life, not true. After 220,000 miles transmission started acting up. Against my mechanic's advice I had him replace the clutch plate and fluid. Transmission is working and shifting great.
Visited site below and followed their recommendations. Good luck with your car.
