W210 front door lock replacement 202-720-44-35
Attachment provides some helpful information to replace the front door lock assembly on a W210. This one is a 1999 E55; passenger side front door lock failed so the door would not shut. The actuator is a part of the door lock so this also applies to an actuator replacement.
I recommend using this with the Pelican Parts tech article: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm
My only gripe about the tech article is the throw away line "Before you can remove the assembly, you will also need to remove the window guide." That one sentence covers a lot of ground so thus the reason I assembled this information to go with the tech article.
FWIW, the lock assembly I picked up at the dealer would not fit when installed. The door handle stood out from the door approximately 1/4" and I spent over two hours trying to figure it out. Took it back to the dealer where one of the older Master Techs paused his rebuild of a transmission and adjusted the release lever of the new part to match the old part. Took the part home, reinstalled it, and the door handle fit perfectly. Yay!
