But didn't Mikey end up getting some drilled Brembo's that worked fine? See here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w210/84712-brake-job.html

Yeah, I got the 300 mm front Brembos. It is my understanding from Mercedes North America that some early production 2000 E430 had smaller (300 mm) fronts. The others are supposed to have 316 mm. That is why Brembo lists the 316s. My drilled 300s work great.

Both 316mm's and 300mm's are available in drilled however all W210's have 300mm's for the fronts.

I asked the brakeworld guys to check again, after I found out the 316's were too big for my 01 E430, and he told me that as per Brembo's newest catalog, 300mm (front) & 290mm (Rears) are the correct sizes for all W210's.

316's are very uncommon and currently only fit the following models:

2000-2004 CL500
2000-2004 S430
2000-2004 S500

So please do not buy any 316mm's for any 00+ W210's.

I will post pics of the brake job when I get my front rotors installed.

Chassis numbers

It all has to do with chassis numbers. If your chassis falls in the A379347-A999999 range as mine does, (btw, my '99 E430 Sport has an 11/99 build date - not sure if that helps you guys) you need 300mm front rotors. I'm not sure about other chassis numbers, tracking down the info for my car was enough of a headache. Chassis number also affects rear brake pads as well, but using the "search" function will provide that info. Good luck.
