Transmission Problem

I received my dipstick yesterday and level is perfect Oil a little tan but red also. No leaks I but I am reaching for straws. When the car sits overnight I have to let it warm up 5 minutes. Now besides the warm up It goes through the gears perfect but snaps your neck it shifts so hard. As I said it shifts through all the gears perfect. After the first round of shifting it shifts so smooth you can't feel it Trans was serviced by Mercedes 60,000 miles ago but also it has been 15 years Has 110,000 miles on it. . Just a grocery runner . The cars runs perfect , no vacuum leaks cleaned the throttle body. Connector was change from mercedes with fluid change, I checked TCU everything is dry Like I said after first round of shifts it shifts like a new car. Thanks

Adaptations should be reset after the change. The fluid intervals are acceptable. I went a little longer like 60K each time. I just changed mine last week just did a pan drop. Im going to let it swish around a couple of weeks with the new filter then crack the return line to do another 9 qts. exchange then do a new drop and filter 30K mi later due to my mileage.

When cold I do feel a 1st gear shift flare, like it holds 1st a little longer, a little but goes away when warmed up. I was told this is natural . Also though I am doing my flex discs and center support while there in the next few days since it might have a little to do with the flare. Plus I see cracks.

Thanks for your input. Do you think that connector that was replaced by Mercedes 60,000 15 years ago could have gone bad again. I am tight on space to jack it up space to jack it up (HOA) rules but was thinking it might be leaking again and just didn't wick oil up to TCU yet

C43 AMG with a tune up
Pilot bush must always be replaced when you do an oil change.
This is a plastic and fragile part, not expensive at all to buy from your local dealer.

When car and transmission is cold it holds the 1st gear a bit longer to faster heat up cats.
Make sure you are up to level with tranny oil otherwise it could make strange shiftings.

When you drain the old oil make sure you flush with new oil to suck out the old, when it's all bright red and looking fresh then you're good.

I think if it was the connector, you would be having more problems than what you are experiencing, doesn't hurt to check and you shouldn't have to drop the pan to change it. Just remove the shield bolt and pull the plastic cover and you should would see leakage. Might as well change it f you are that far.

I would see if you have a auto lift rental place where you live, makes life so much easier.

What gets me is it only happens once in the morning. I don't have the heart to tear this apart it shifts so good after that first run through the gears. You can't even feel it shift. I will try to craw under with a can of electric cleaner in case its leaking. I can see all around the trans and it bone dry I was wondering if I disconnect the battery it may reset something ????

Without star yes a battery disconnect is the other way, just be sure to have your radio code and be prepared to reset your features like windows sunroof etc.
