ipod for '01 E320

Is it possible to integrate an ipod with a 2001 E320 without resorting to the sacrificial RF connection. I've got the COMMAND unit installed.

It's my understanding that if you have the Navigation system installed there might be an AUX audio input jack in your glove-box.

Exactly, I use ipod in this way. You can consider more tight integration, just do search for iPod in w211 forum. You should find a good example of iPod installation with pictures.

You should check out Denison's Ice-link. It makes your ipod act like a CD-Changer to the Mercedes Command. You can control the ipode with the Command system.

I would definitely be interested in getting that adapter they mention for the W210 Command system to replace my CD changer, but the cost seems exhorbitantly high...

Even for the "Active AUX input adapter" for the Navigation system AUX input is incredibly pricey, $120 for a $2.50 cable from Radioshack, a power adapter, and a cradle? Am I missing something here? WTH... :p

With that gorgeous car you have, it's a waste to run it with the Depo projector lens . Imagine a 911 with a flash-light mount inside its headlight ? You need that authentic purple-white & super-bright to keep everything in sync. Neither high-temp xenon bulb nor paint-one is good enough, you need that prestigious lens to make it audi-like

Upgrade it to some reputable projector (Hella, Bosch, Valeo), and you have a champion right there.

Zam, thank you for the compliment. You can blame the previous owner for those projectors. :p I think they look pretty good but I haven't seen what the other lenses looks like.

If you can point me in the right direction I'll definitely take it into consideration.

Forgive my ignorance but are you saying the iTrip:

and iCarplay wireless FM transmitters:
will affect the Nav?

Two of my colleagues who have factory nav's (an 04 Range Rover and 03 Audit RS6) use the iTrip without any problems....do they affect the Benz commands, if so, what's the impact? I'm seriously considering the iTrip for my car (no command but I'm sure my next one will.....).

I think he means that the RF transmitters have ****ty audio quality when compared to an AUX line-in jack and he would rather not have to resort to using the RF transmitter if he doesn't have to.

So grocery_getter, did you look in your glove box for the AUX input? You should have one in there since you have the navigation system installed...
