Rear brake caliper no longer aligns?

2001 E320 4matic Wagon. Complete overhaul of the rear end and I'm putting everything back together.

However, I can't get the rear drivers side brake caliper back on. It's almost as if the rotor is flared out and causing the misalignment of the caliper bolt holes.
But it wasn't like that when I took it off and rotors don't just bend.

I have no idea why this doesn't align. Anyone have anything on this one?

Ok sitting at the table with some brain enhancers and thinking of the problem. Brake caliper slides onto rotor but jams up here at the bolt holes.

I'm thinking the problem is the pistons inside the brake caliper aren't retracted all the way? I just squeezed the pads out with my 18mm wrench enough to slap it on the rotor.

The angle here is a bit worrisome but I have to attribute that to the pistons as well because there's nothing I can think of as I've check listed down that can be bent or improperly put back together. The wheel spindle is the wheel spindle and the rotor sits overtop, there's nothing else.
