Rebuilding the rear suspension on Boo's '98 E320 wagon. Ordered the "Control Arm Kit". Paid for the kit. The kit arrived. The 'Camber Strut' doesn't fit. It's different. Nobody knows anything.
On my part # A210 352 1005. MB says discontinued, then the trail leads to part#210 350 3406, which ain't the part. Then the trail goes cold. There appears to be different part numbers between sedan and wagon.
I'll be happy if I could replace the bushings only, but fitting them is a crapshoot.
Anyone experience this?

So, it resolved (sort of) that I found the attached photo with the explanation and correct part#. The "kit" is being sold on a few of our favorite websites as a fit for the wagon, but doesn't take into account the different arms designated between sedan and wagon. The wagon arm is peuliarly curved, and made of aluminum, while the sedan arm is straight steel. 2nd and 3rd arm in the photo. I've just finished rebuilding my 2001 wagon. The problem you're having is that many of the parts suppliers (including the best in my opinion-AutohauzAZ) typically do not have a coding or cataloguing for the difference between a wagon AWD and a sedan AWD. The difference is in a few of the parts in the rear. Brake shields, LCA's etc. What you need to do is go on EBAY and buy yourself a 20 dollar WIS/ASRA for that year car. Look for 1998 Mercedes Wagon WIS/ASRA. What you'll get is the catalogue on that car for repair procedures and the parts catalogue. Then you have no problems getting the proper parts number.
Also another advice for you, based on my experience thus far of repairing everything on my car (I live an hour out of the city so I have to wrench my stuff) including replacing the front end suspension. Make friends with your local Mercedes parts department. They'll give you the same prices you get at AutoHauzAZ if they know you're continuing to buy through them and the parts are Mercedes original. I've gone this route after about the third or fourth wrong part (yes I had the proper parts numbers but they'll still screw up and send you sedan parts).
Currently I'm still working my job, as I had to replace the nitrogen sphere's and doing that job I broke the levelling valve, twice and screwed up the hydraulic lines having to replace them as a result. Words of advice here if you ever get into that job: mark paint your lines before you cut. Also hydraulic fittings are screwed in by hand only and tightened by flare wrench only at the end. Ugh. ugy ugh. Hope this all helps.
