I know there is a microphone in a black cover there, but a roof fan. I think you are mistaken.

Foe da clizzz-imate control.....

it all snaps apart. take the light covers off and grab it to pull it down, it pops right out but sits firmly in there. Already replaced it on my E300

BTW. Also I replaced the map light with an amber bulb. Sometimes that clear map light is too strong. The amber bulb is perfect for when you need light or for the passenger and don't want it to bother you while driving at night...

Did you try cleaning it first? 80 bucks is a bit steep

The vampire probably charged your for labor as well, that's why its so pricey - get it back and sell it yourself

hmm, maybe i need to replace or clean mine too. i've always noticed it takes a long time for my climate control to react to the car's temperature - especially when it is cold. is it really a fan that i can see moving, or is it a little pump or something. i guess i could look for myself, but my car is out in the parking lot...
