2000 w210 stuck in LHM

my 2000 w210 is stuck in limp mode… ive been trying to diy for the past month n a half, not sure what happened, i may have gotten water in the shifter but i still get the correct (p, r, n , d ) on the dash so i dont think its that, cleaned the shifter with electrical cleaner and it doesnt look like theres any damage to it either, changed my conductor plate, 13 pin connector twice, not sure if its the actual plug that goes into the conductor plate i havent hit that with the electrical cleaner yet… no metal shavings in the pan (ive dropped it 5x) got a $150 obd bluetooth scanner that didnt do jack, it said the shift solenoids were bad tested them and they were all reading correct ohms, tcm is dry and the connections, not sure if i should just replace the whole trans? get it into a shop? buy a good scanner? i live in the bay so theres not a lot of indie shops that will take it in, the car wants to go everytime i start it up it’s ready to just go 100 mph, idols correct in every gear… not sure im new to this… i just want to get it back on the road

to answer your why you need a much better diagnostic tool that reads the TCM ,but amazed your bluetooth device dident show an ECU fault----why

i think that will be my next move… engine is fine i believe starts up every time, im sure its either my repair or the tcm getting blocked and not communicating with the whole transmission, ive watched 25+ videos on youtube about this trans problem, not very many that help, i bought a icarsoft v2.0 that never shipped, should i try and get it again or is there another one that would work, nothing bluetooth though i dont think they communicate well with older models

Use the 38-pin connector under the hood and a diagnostic system that connects to it. Once the transmission goes into "limp mode" for an electrical fault, you must use STAR/Xentry or equivalent and clear the stored code before it will operate again. The proper diagnostic system will also verify transmission health and operation.
Have you bothered to inspect the TCM under the passenger side rear of the engine compartment for oil intrusion? That can be caused by oil wicking up the electrical harness from a bad connector on the side of the transmission.

The W210 TCM is under the hood. The W211 TCM is under the passenger side floorboard. So...you don't have one under the carpet.

yeah i didnt think mine had one under the carpet, i checked the tcm and connections, they’re both dry… i think my transmission just needs a full reset with a good scanner, this is a lot to ask but would anyone be willing to send and let me borrow their good scanner? i dont have 1200 to spend right now, we could exchange socials and numbers if anybody is down, just thought i’d ask.

Put up a new thread inquiring if there is anyone in your area who would be willing to assist. I've done it for several folks here in the south central Texas area. The most fun was "marrying" a newly virginized ECU to an older car. While I was doing that, a guy stopped in front of the house in a W211 E55 he had just purchased. Cleared a lot of issues on that one and pointed him in a better direction (never forget, nothing is more expensive than a cheap Mercedes).

The individual will need to have either an older C3 system (Win 2K or Win7 operating system) with the 38-pin connector or a dual-boot C4 system (Windows 10 and Xentry for W211 and up and Windows 7 with HHT for the W210). Also ask to see if anyone can recommend an independent Mercedes repair shop in your area.
