W210 suspension help!!!

My wheels are finally shipped to the dealer, so I should have them by weeks end (hopefully). This leads me to the next step, my suspension. I have 19x8's up front 19x10's in the rear with Toyo T1's 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 respectively. If I plan on going with H&R springs and Bilsteins, stock spring pads, will I have any rubbing problems? My buddy has stock wheels, H&R springs and stock shocks and his front only has "1 finger", my fear is with shorter shocks I might rub, but theoretically I shouldnt....can anyone with suspension experience chime in here? Thanks for the help guys.

I'd suggest going to the E55 forum to get more accurate responses. Nonetheless I understand the AMG's have their fenders already rolled at the factory hence may be more accomodating than the regular ones. Some but not too many ppl have gone 10" in the back here and it also depends on the offset of the wheels themselves.

But in general, the height of the car is predominantly determined by the length of the springs and not the shocks, provided the shocks are in good condition.

BTW got a pic of the wheels you're getting?

Thanks man...I know that the 10's should fit...I was just worried about the front. Thanks for the suspension lesson, I did not know that the springs determine ride height...then I should have no problem (hopefully). Here are some rough pics of the actual wheels...rough meaning they were just made and have to be wiped off/lips polished etc..they have not been delivered yet, they are 2 piece forged, remind me of the 8 series HRE, real clean, and yes I will be the only E55 in the world with them

Wow, those Nordstrom, err, I mean Angstroms look real nice - even unfinished Kinda reminds me of mine , hee, hee. Do post pics here (not jsut the E55 forum )when their on

8" fronts should be ok, especially with an AMG but again depends on the offset - if its in the range of ET31-38, its definitely OK.

E55JAY: WOW...great choice of wheels, I'm not very familiar with the Angstrom line, but those look "SIIC"

8" fronts should not be an issue, within the proper ET range as Dave stated.

Davey: Are you sheiting me, the Dronells are only 16-18 lbs I'm still in search for lightweight wheels for track only usage, I was favoring the VOLKs.

Another member asked before and I think it was less than USD4000, incl shipping to the US - the US dealer for Dronell went bust (I can find out exact cost if needed). Obviously I paid less without the cost of shipping and a real merciless trade-in deal for my Harts.

Rich, if you don't mind the look of these, I think they're probably one of the lightest you can get at the moment for the 19's. Happy to arrange a set to be sent over but what about your kicka$$ black VI's?.....your ride just wouldn't be the same without them.......

Whitey, what tire size you running up front on the those 19x8.5 et30 rims?

The W210 E55 can not go over 8.0 et35 if using the US OEM tire size of 245/40/18. Using et36 - et38 would requiring using 235/40/18 up front. Don't want to push the wheel inward too far it will rub inside on this nut.

Kev, I think you might have misread, his are 19's.

Agreed, anything with too high an offset may rub on the inside AND look real fugly In fact, the AMG standard is ET31 for the 8" fronts and I'm already pushing the limits (at least without fender rolling) on ET30. For looks alone, I probably wouldn't go any higher than ET33.

You're in serious trouble if they have NOT mixed up! But sounds like they did, in which case you should be fine.

You should be able to take ET29 up front cuz:

1) your's are 8"
2) your fenders are rolled

Better verify that the ET's were the wrong way or you're screwed........

Iam being told that this is not a mix up and that this is how they were designed to get maximum lip in the rear, and the front offset is to keep the wheel tucked when lowered. Iam scared that the wheels wont fir correctly but they are claiming that they will...they are trying to find an E Class locally to mock them up to. This custom wheel process really sucks

Man, how come they're "finding an E" now??????? Shouldn't they be doing it when they did the measurements, pre-manufacture??? In any case, lucky with a two pc, they can always disassemble and shift the center part inwards or outwards to get it to work - only problem is they need to re-weld the parts together :o ....good luck.
