They will also have to take into consideration the (presumably) larger E55 brake calipers.

Yes you would asume as much and would expect that the to the bare minimum ...I await an email today about fitment of the front.

Jay, it may not be the wheel alone but the 245 tire using that offset of et38 up front. Are they going to put a tire (245) on that rim and test it? Good Luck!

Anything bigger than a 18X8 et35 will not work with a 245 tire.

Just as I suspected, Whitey you are running a 235 tire. Jay and US W210 E55's use a 245.

If I went with a 235 do you think it would fit?

With an 8", 225 would fit and probably be the safest best (if they make them for 19's). Steering will be lighter and more responsive but won't be as aggressive looking.....and with the wheel sitting so far in from the fender (compared to the usual setup), a real good drop is needed to make it look better. Just my $0.02.

My real concern now is whether they will clear your calipers and the rears are going to be dangerously close to the fenders at 10" ET29.

Consider yourself lucky you haven't taken delivery. All is not lost - like I said, they can always reposition the face (spokes) of the wheels. Capliers is a big problem with deep-dish wheels....

Update

I asked for my deposit back...they are going to mount and balance wheels and tires, ship them out...and will take them back if they dont fit or look right...manufacturer claims that they have made wheels for W210 E55's before and guarantee fitment, Iam awaiting a reply.

Miracle Fitment!

there is another member with a miracle front fitment. JamE55 upgraded to HRE rims 19X9 et32 with no rubbing. The calculations state this fitment pushes the rim inward 14mm. However, Jam did upgrade to Brembo brakes and I suspected that the brake rotor face (hat) may have been further out than stock which would require a bigger offset, but it was supposed to be the same as stock. No one has been able to explain Jam's miracle fitment yet.

All these discussions on wheel clearance is getting interesting....u sure he didn't space them out. What about tire width?....I guess with 9" he'd need at least 245's right?

Wassup Jay! Check the other recent tire/wheel thread, lots to learn So I guess with James' case, there's hope yet for the fronts.....as for the rears, you could just space it out - in which case, they should pay for it or take it off the bill....H&R hubcentric spaces

GOOD LUCK! However, if it doesn't work out and you get a full refund, I'd recommend DPE "R08 Variant S" wheels for a similar style - I'm seriously considering swapping mine for these........ooooooohhhhh, I'm so torn :

DPE's are handled by enthusiasts, a couple of them are Benz modding members on this board I understand (the silver CLK in their gallery is Lowryder), so you would have comfort that these guys know what they're doing. Alexbenz should be able to help with getting your hands on some and deal with any subsequent problems. Here's their site:

Those wheels are hot, I wonder how much they weigh...check this link, same company made my wheels also at the exact same time.
