Clear front side marker lenses
Does anyone know where I can purchase a pair of clear lenses for the outside of a E55/E430 Sport front bumper? To replace the amber lens.

dude, these are very hard to find due to the fact that they are cost prohibitive to manufacture. i got mine from a group buy at mbnz.org where I guess Frank (IIRC) had a batch made. they weren't cheap, $125 a pair. if you don't mind painted you can get those from evosport

'sama,
Thanks for the info. $125 a pair ain't that bad if they look good and are made well. I tried to hit evosport.com and couldn't get it to come up.

I got it.........they have some excellent products. Tell me, how does that lens come out? Have to remove the plastic liner/box from inside the fender? Not sure if I like the painted units. They are $85. Does clean up front end.

David,
Email me with details. Where did you get them, condition, how much, pix if you have them, etc. Is there a bulb behind the W210 side marker?
Thanks,

mike,
to get the side markers out i used a flexible plastic card. i bent it into a lenth-wise u and wedged it under the corner of the lens. then i just eased it out. and i believe there is a bulb behind there.

All of them, as much as I can...
Why not try painting it yourself first? Then, if...
...you don't like how it turns out, then spring for a new pair. BTW, on the new E, there is a hole in the front area of the wheel well where you stick your finger in and push on a tab that will release the lens (it's outlined in the manual) then the bulb socket is a simple twist off. On the CLK, you push the lens forward and out.
I painted mine on the CLK and the E430 by just a light sanding and regular spray can gloss black. 2 light coats will do it and still allow the light through; enough to see at night. Not a perfect match but its OK. Silver may match, do a test and hold it up against the bumper.

WOW! thanks much for the info. on clear lens for E-class front bumper. Sounds like a great price. Checking on it. Question for all.....are the lens the same for ALL E-cars.....my car has the AMG bumper cover identical to the E55.

Does anybody know if it's technically illegal to have white markers in California? I bought some and used them for a while, but I read somewhere amber is all that's allowed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

just take your bulbs down to a local auto store (pepboy, trak auto etc.) and tell them you need these two in amber. they cost a few cents.

Thegeneraltso,
Thanks. I thought I needed to get them from a speed shop, but they actually told me to go to Pep Boys which had them for like $2.49 or something. The amber bulbs and white lenses really do look good.
