Crank no start, but weird
Hello guys
i have a 2002 E200 Kompressor
I've been dealing with a crank no start issue for quite some time, most if it is when the weather is really cold, but also happens while hot-start and after leaving the car to sit for some time, sometimes 30 mins sometimes overnight.
i need to cycle the key a few times, and other times i need to keep the key in position 2 for some time to be able to start the car.
I know its not a fuel pump issue as when the car starts it runs fine and car pulls normally.
today, it kept me stranded after an hour of trying to start it but no luck.
I get no voltage at the pump when the ignition is set to position 2 to get the fuel pump to prime, so the pump doesn't prime, i also don't get voltage while cranking.
if i intermittently jump the positive lead of the pump from a 12v source for 5 seconds then i get the car to start normally, after it starts i get voltage at the pump and the car runs normally on its own.
I don’t know where to start diagnosing this or what to replace.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

You can start your diagnostic by scanning the car. If this will be the first time scanning, clear all code first, then run, or try to run the car. Run then for few minutes. Then scan it again.
Scanning should be your first diagnostic unless you can clearly see mechanical damage like leaking water pump.
