E-280 W210 Rear Fog light not working
Greetings one and all,
I have an E-280 W210 1997 Merc, and the dreaded "Lamp Defective" warning has come up. I have isolted it to the rear fog light (German model) driver side. When I activate the fog lights, the two front ones -do- work. There does not appear to be any current coming to the rear lamp. At the end of last year I reapplied sealant around the lighting fixture as it was leaking water into it after heavy rain. At that point the light was still working. I have changed the bulbs and cleaned the contact points. I am unsure of what to do next. Local car electricians shrug and tell me an inspection into the problem -could- run up to €1000, which I would very much like to avoid. I do not have wiring diagrams, and the Haynes-style Service Book does not go into any further deatil other how to change the bulbs.
While I have seen posts with similar problems to other models, the slight differences between cars does my head in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Dwight
