Removing wiring harness from Rea door presenting obstacles

Someone backed into my new 1998 e320 4 matic and the matching green color was hard to find. I had to drive to another city an hour and 20 minutes away to find that green door and it was luckily a 1998. I watched several videos on w210s on YouTube but they were only instructions for removing the front door. And there were a ton of videos just on removing the inside panels on the front and back doors. After removing the door panel they removed the wire harness together tightly and pulled it out the hole where the accordion is. They were very easy to pull out in the video and after watching it a few times I was confident and drove to this other City to collect my door and bring it home.
Once I arrived to the parts yard however I realized that there was one small difference with the back door versus the front. There is a metal loop welded to the inside of the door that holds the wire harness in place very tightly and snuggly, so that I cannot pull them out without damaging them.

Any tips on removing the door and wiring harness or dealing with this metal loop holding the wiring in place?
Can the metal loop be removed or bet or manipulated?
Or do all of the wires need to be unplugged from behind the pillar where the seatbelt is?
Or in the footwell somewhere ?

Post a photo of it...since you already have it apart. Saves having a guess or any helpful person opening a door just to see this.

yes, after having the dream of a new door the first thing to dream next is where can I find a copy of MB WIS that will give you a detailed description of removal and placement of the door because another challenge will be alignment.
