How many miles to a tank do get?
I get much less,like 350-380 when I commute

So it is here in quite a few stations, but . . .
It's the cents-per-mile that counts, and my last fill up netted me 7 cents per mile.
Given that most gasoline powered Mercedes Benzs must use premimum fuel, and in most stations 91 octane is priced higher than Diesel.
Remember, most of the time Diesel fuel is priced less than any of the three grades of gasoline. And when this mad pricing is through, I'll be running mine for only 5 cents per mile.

That's only about 6 MPG !
I couldn't do that poorly with my full race '95 Superchargered 383" SS Impala with 3.73 gears.
Even when at the drags, I'd average over 10 mpg.
What do you do, burn rubber at every stop?
Anyways I get 28 on the E320. I do use cruise control though quite often. I have gotten 29.5 mpg when i was in Nevada going from Fallon to hawthorne nevada. Again I was using cruise control at 65 mph.
I am very happy with the gas mileage because I habitually drive calm and maybe once or twice in a month will "dog" it.
For city commutes, I have a 98 Civic that averages 31 MPG in city. Never taken it to highway because thats whatthe Merc is for. Tell you guys what! Not a bad drive either. MUCH better than Corollas and other gas savers.
Off course nothing beats the Eeeeeeeeeee
I believe my tank is 15.85 gallons (60liters), hence it equates to 17mpg. I thought a smaller engine is supposed to be more economical, even in the city - what gives?

An interesting point, however is that if your tank is 15.85 gallons, you probably fill it when light comes on (at or around 14 Gallons consumption). That would translate to:
273/14 = 19.5 MPG ..... excellent.
If, however you are considering pumped fuel versus mileage then:
273/15.85 = 17.22 which is darn good for a 4 banger pulling a e-class chasis
Just for my info, what mods do you have in place to improve mileage economy? maybe my V8 can benefit from your ideas.

However, I have to disagree with the part about the fuel savers being power reducing mods as they improve response/pickup and quicker torque peaking - the main reason why I had them in the first place. Altho many of these have been dubbed "gimmicks" or "scams" on the forums, I have personally tried them with notable improvements in fuel economy and response with each mod (abeit, without a formal dyno test). These include - Iridium sparks, K&N filter, larger and ligher pullies, DPS (Direct Power System) and a Turbojet (airflow enhancement turbine on the intake).
