Oh I forgot to say thanks to Mac vid for the thread including diagrams for the wiring. I’m clueless as to where to start when it comes to testing fuses and ignition systems . I’ll have to learn because from what I have gathered,it’s
Definitely something to do with the ignition to starter that shutting out right before cranking . If it does boil down to an ignition issue.. I’m hoping it doesn’t involve me taking it to a dealer for new key new ignition and programming smh …

So while I’m deciding on what code reader to buy I did some more digging jumpered the relay and got it to turn over but no crank ? Does this mean that I have issues with starter wiring ?

Here’s what I got . It’s like it’s just the starter but nothing else . Does it suppose to start this way ? I’m definitely buying a voltimeter my next day off . It’s sounding like something super easy

What do you mean by "turn over but no crank"? Turn over and crank is same thing. Start, however, is whole different thing.

So if your car crank by jumping the relay but does not start, then you have indeed starter circuitry problem. But to find what's wrong, yeah, you need multimeter.

Good luck. Electrical problem are one of, if not #1, hardest thing to concur. But be careful, make sure you don't fry anything else. Otherwise, it will be very expensive fix.

So you think it’s wiring to the starter shorting out somewhere ? Like corrosion ? From what it sounds like ?

Don't you wish the electrical work is that easy. I mean I can simply tell you what's wrong.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea. That's where you step in and troubleshoot.

Good luck.

I have a 2000 E 430, it has one battery under the rear seat. Did you figure it out?
