Evap temperature sensor question.

Hi y’all.

2001 e430. AC not blowing cold. Freon has been evacuated, filled and recharged. No leaks nor blockage. Compressor turns on. Ran a fault code thru the climate control unit, showed “Eb1 416” which is the coolant circulation pump. Heard that part has nothing to do with AC not cooling but it’s for the heater. Cleared the code but came back. Bought the part and will install.

My buddy who’s a Mercedes mechanic also suggested to change the Evaporator Temperature Sensor. I ordered the part. Just can’t find a video or write up on how to get to it to install the new one. 🤷🏽‍♂️. Thoughts?

Run a diagnostic and post the result here. Also, compressor turn on. Does the clutch engage? Have you hook up the manifold and read the pressure on both side?

If you run the diagnostic and post the numbers here, you don't need to hook up gauge, but if you haven't, or not planning to, hook up the manifold and read the pressure. And don't tell us that you have the low side pressure numbers from those cheapy gauge that is on the can/hose. Those are not accurate and does not read the high side.

Lastly, if I'm not mistaken, to replace evap sensor, you need to discharge the system and re-charge it again. Or was is the other sensor?
