Hey everyone,

I have a 2002 Mercedes W210 E270 CDI that originally came with an automatic transmission. I’m currently in the process of swapping it to a manual gearbox. I’ve already collected all the necessary parts from another identical W210 E270 CDI that was manual from the factory.

The mechanical side of the swap is almost complete, but soon I’ll need to get the car running properly — to start, drive, and operate without transmission-related errors or limp mode.

My question is:

How can I reprogram or code the car (ECU, ESP, etc.) to work properly with the manual transmission? Can this be done entirely with Star Diagnosis / Xentry DAS, or is additional ECU editing required (like variant coding or EEPROM changes)?

I would really appreciate any guidance or steps from someone who has done this before, or knows how to handle the software side of the conversion.

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

It seams that the coding is directly in DAS,
