Factory CD changer skipping
I have a factory Bose '99 E430, trunk mounted 6 disc changer. Just a couple months ago started skipping on a few tracks. These same CD's do not skip in other players. And it's not on all CD's. I even just bought the new U2 CD, it was fine for a while now skips all over the place.
Has nothing to do with vibration or physical movement of car.
I have bought a CD cleaner from Radio Shack, seemed to help out but not solve.
Any suggestions for diagnosis or other comments? Need help, very annoying!!!
Where u been?Yeah, sounds like you'll need a new one....cd changers do have a limited life, especially if you've (possibly unknowingly) had a few dusty CD's in there.....
Remember we PM'ed a couple times about finances when you were almost ready to give up your current E?
I've just been busy with work AND a book that I'm writing. Hopefully I can get it on shelves where you are overseas.
How much does a new lense/laser cost?
Peace,
-DL

Good luck on the book - any sneak previews on what its about?ccmbduong is absolutely right, if a replacement of the changer is all you're after. However replacing it with an ipod might be another option too.

This site really does not tell you much about the structure or thesis of my material, but I'm interviewing people now internationally. I'll let you know when I get a real website up.
