Anyone know anyone(dealer or personal sale) selling a 2000 - 2002 E 320 or 430 with command, preferably black?
I have been trying for so long that i am tired.. oh well......
I might have to strain to wait for the new E if i cant find one.

Thanks for any help...

You should be able to get w210 E classes for dirt dirt cheap now. If you want, go to the dealer and haggle. They definitely don't want to sit on last year's inventory especially when the new model's coming out in like 2 months.

Or look for a low mileage used 2001 E class. Great bargain either way.

Lightbulb Try Rallye or Silver Star...

If you call Rallye, ask for Paul Banco and tell him Captain Ray sent you. I just got an Obsidian Black E430SE and a Torquoise E320 from him. Great incentives now on the W210s. I think he has 1 black E430 left and may have Comand in it. He also has 1 E55 in silver loaded.
Another option would be to install a aftermarket nav system that fits in the DIN hole with a motorized pop up screen. (about $3200). I think that's what I'll do with mine.

It's the on-board GPS-based navigation system. It runs off database provided on CDs. Check out:

Darkmann, this is Comand 2.0. Spelling has only 1 'm' not Command.

Thanks all for the info on "COMAND". What ever happened to maps? BTW, I once used the SOS to obtain directions from MB and I can't believe that the charged me for the time AND for the information they provided!!! Next time I'll get COMAND. For now, maps will do. Thanks all.

Wait a minute, the service is supposed to be included...

in the teleaid subscription that comes with the car. Or did you not renew after the first year's "free" service?

I'm barely 8 months with the car. When the attendant told me that I'd be charged for the map service I questioned and reminded him exactly what you stated above. I specifically asked him why charge me for the teleaid time (part of that 30minutes) and then again for the service (of providing directions). He said he had to charge me for the service. Small amount but non theless annoying.

I think this deserves a note to MBUSA in Montvale, NJ...

I'd shoot an e-mail to customer service at the corporate HQ. Maybe get a clareification. I'm punching the SOS button today to see...

I am still in the 1st free year. How much does it cost to renew? What is the best Tele-Aid price? Thanks.

They have this 1st call "deal"...

...but I'd feign innocence.
At the acquaintance call, they will offer a special renewal rate after the 1st year of about $225 per year up to 3 add'l years. Otherwise, it's $325 or something like that. I decided to take a package for the life of my lease, so 2 addl years cost me an add'l $440 or something.

Push the SOS button and tell them you missed the offer at the 1st call and would like to take advantage of it. If anything, it tests your system
I push the buttons at least once every 2 weeks.

techbike, do you really use it? Even at $225.00 per year that seems expensive. Especially since most owners have a cell phone and the roadside service is free. What is the point of having Tele-Aid?

Unhappy Now that you mention it, it seems like a frivolous expense...

I bought it with the CLK in March and when I picked up the E and made the call, I decided not to go for it and transferred the 2 add'l years on the CLK to the E (since it's my daily driver) I was surprised that the contract is transferrable!.
But if you think about it, $.62 a day is cheap insurance for that 1 time that the airbags deploy and there's no one around to help. Another fear of mine is that cars are stolen from my parking garage in NYC; particularly Bimmers and Benzes and the covert-tracking feature similar to Lojack may be worth it.
I guess bottom line is, it's like any insurance- you're betting that someday, you'll stupidly lock yourself out of the car or something.

Tele-aid

I did cancel it...
I agree with E55KEV although TechBike also has the point...
With my cell phone, and driving at 65 mph, I guess I don't need to renew the Tele-aid. What's the odds !
I'll save the money for my next Benz

Thanks people. I'll definitely fire an e-mail to HQ for clarification. I must admit, I didn't read the entire TeleAid contract when I purchased the car. There may actually be a clause there that explains all this.

Anyway, I plan to renew, not primarily for the aid itself, but for the "Lojack" like tracking feature it offere if anyone takes the car. I don't know how much the Lojack system costs, but it's probably more than the TeleAid system.

I'm not sure if the cost of the Lojack is negotiable or varies geographically, but when I purchased the car (5/14) it was put in for $695 and includes lifetime monitoring and warranty. On the Tele Aid in addition to the 12 months free I added an additional 3 years for $600. Both services in conjunction with each other probably aren't necessary, but I had it in my mind I wanted Lojack and didn't read the Tele Aid information until later. I figure with the combination of Lojack, Tele Aid and AAA, someone should be able to bring me a burger and fries if I call.

Not a bad deal. Anyway, we are so off the track that I have to apologize to Silver_Lana - this thread originated with her (or his) request about purchasing a 2000E with Comand. I'm in MD and the dealers here are giving substantial discounts - one offered me $3901 off a '02 ML320. I'm still debating whether or not to get it, with all the problems they've had. No, let's not start another topic now about ML problems. Thanks.

No, no, no not an ML!

Sorry to all ML fans, but my ML's interior panels all came off at one time or another. You're right Darkmann, we ARE getting way off topic. Apologies too to the thread originator.
Greatest deals I've found are on the E series. Including the early lease termination on my ML430 and the "thrown in" options, I must have saved about $4000.

That's unbelievable. Call George at Pohanka Nissan (1-800-4POHANKA) or 410-548-3411. I'm sure he can get you one.

Well, well, well, I'm glad you got that cleared up and congrats on becoming a "Senior Member". Now does that mean you get the new E with senior discount or will you "just go away" to a Cyber nursing home, of course, full of MB zombies???
