Estimate for TX seal replacement
Hi all,
My transmission seal (One between the engine and TX) is leaking or rather weeping. Anytime I look under the car, I can see three to four drops hanging on there. I loose about a quart every 6 mnths since I bought the car. Recently I noticed that the process has accelerated to one quart at 4 months or so.
took her to Greenway Mercedes in Houston, and their estimate to replace seal alone is $1200.00. Third party Merc/Porsche/BMW shop quotes around $750.00 and an ordinary ASE mechanic (who works on rolls royce and older mercedes) quoted around 500.00
Any opinions on the rates quoted? parts? etc?
