E Class door jams

E Class door jams
Has anyone noticed how impossible it is to keep the door jams of a E class clean? (mine has Java interior Why on earth did the interior designers use a fabric in the places where the driver and passenger's feet are sure to touch upon entering and exiting the vehicle. I even have scuff marks on the map pockets which are covered in some type of felt/fabric as well.
Not to mention the cloth stripping that runs adjacent to the door gasket..that piece of fabric is filthy on every Benz I've seen, no matter how well kept. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean this piece of fabric? or the felt/fabric on the map pockets? If you don't know what I am talking about - sit in the drivers seat, and look down, and to your left...it's sure to be the dirtiest area in your car.

I have a Java interior also on my '01 E320 4 Matic. I love the color in how it works against the burlwood, but I had no idea it would get so dirty so quickly. For floor mats, I've had to get charcoal as java mats look filthy when the passenger get out on just one trip.
What I have used is a product called "Woolite, Spot & Stain Wipes", packaged much like Handi Wipes in a small container where you pull each of the 30 wipes one at a time. About once a month on a Saturday, I'll spend time cleaning each mark off. I've had great results, no damage to any felt ot material surface. It even cleans up the fabric strip right at the door threshold but not as well due to so much dirt left there from entering and exiting.

Thank you..I will try these immediately. The Java material definitely gives one a good work out. I have a excellent detail center, but the once a month detail is just not enough with frequent riders and Java interiors.

Having an infant son, I have found that Huggies brand baby wipes will take the scuffs and marks from both the carpet and map pocket areas. They also take grease off you hands too. Almost to well, making me think if they are okay to use on the kid.
They can be used to take off grease kicked up from the tires on to the rocker panels too.
