Side view mirror moves in reverse

Side view mirror moves in reverse
When I put my E320 Wagon in Reverse, the side view mirror points down. This is great because I back my car into our tight garage against the wall giving my wreckless wife plenty of room to barrel in. It only works when the mirror adjustment switch is in the passenger side position. If I move it to the driver side neither mirror moves down. Is this correct? I would think that the driver side mirror would point down! Thanks in Advance.

Hmm... this is interesting. I noticed that was happening before in my car but lately it wasn't going down. I will check the mirror adjustment switch, I bet it is in the driver's mirror position

The switch is supposed to work only when depressed on the passenger side since you back in to park right rear first 99% of the time.

if you have the passenger button pushed down and the mirror will not go down, it could be that your back up lights aren't going on either...
maybe your reverse switch is broken....100.00 repair
