Thinking of changing rims..

Hey guys..

am now seriously thinking of changing to the 18 inch staggered look, and am now considering a two-piece rial daytona race rims..thinking of going 18/35/265 on 18X10 while maintaining the the 18/40/235s up front... one things for sure the deep dish sure looks sweet!

attached at the bottom is a grainy pic of the rims..

I love my azev's, but i guess I;m thinking of a change

davo, richard and alexbenz...your comments would be most appreciated!

and everyone else too!

Ta!

Wink

Someone called?

Personally I wouldn't go 10" rears with your 280. Get 9 or 9.5" if you can. 265's fit for those widths are OK tho. What's the offsets? Also, with such a deep lip, you might have problems with a BBK if that's what u intend to do.

As for the style of rim itself, I would rather get BBS LM's. The Rial Daytona Race are kinda heavy and I'm not feeling that style of wheel on a W210, especially over your existing ones........... unless its lowered quite a bit, like james' but that's jmho.

Thanks for the photoshop and honest opinion davo!

I'll probably do a BBK for the fronts anyways ( if that ever happens), as the rears are usually less utilised ( plus i don't think I would want to pay double the amount for it ) the 10 inch looks is super sweet, and its something that I think would really suit the car..

I didn't have a love at first site feel with the rims at first, but after looking at it today, knowing about the concave technology, it being a two piece rim, and the fact it gives a real comfortable ride, i'm working out the cost of it and whether it will be worth it..

the rial rims are really nice..perhaps the 19s would have a better look, but dang, i can't really afford them tyres...

will see how it goes the coming weeks!

the BBS does look nice, and they do looks similar.but I think I can get a really good deal for the rials..

but plans might get shot...the gf doesn't like the rials..says it makes the car more ricey, or like a loan shark boss ( ah longs here in malaysia.. ) kinda sad..I liked the pics you posted davo with the BBS..dunno, she says its up to me, but doesn't help when you're driving someone around who doesn't like how the car looks..

9.5 vs 10...with the same width tires aren't gonna be very noticeable, besides a narrower wheel will give you a "fatter tire look"....but looking at those standard offsets, fitting in the rear might be a problem.....

LMAO, "Loan shark & ricey" hummmm, could it be the rivets ? BBS LMs are so top-notch, great performance wheel! How about some OZs?

D....I'm really feeling those BBS CH's, specially on your PIMPA$$ car :p

And which OZ's would u suggest? Superlag III's? Nice wheels but won't look good on a W210 IMO cuz of the thin spokes...apparently super heavy, despite the 1 pc being very lite.

Rich, don't even start to give me ideas.....its been just over year since my last wheel change and I'm itching...but no gruppeM, no SC and no BBKs for me.

Pimpa$$?...arghhhhhh, look who's talking - you mocking me bro?:p

Hummmm....but of course, the Superlag III's. I think they would look good on Karlson's ride, but it's up to him (or I mean his GF ).

Davey...you know your deadline is approaching If your hinting with those pics, you've got my vote on the BBS CHs

touche Richard! I've seen the superlag III's, but don't really feel anything looking at it..i think the gf has issues with the rivets and spider spokes of the daytona, but i think it would look sweet on the ride, and it is pretty similar to the BBS LMs.

just found out from my guy that my dunlop direzzas will have to be changed to the falken azevis ( dunno how to spell that ) as they don't have the 265s for the dunlop. I dunno guys, I'm starting to grow on the rims, probably also because one of my azevs got bent and fixed twice, and looks pretty much like **** now ( from far you wouldn't be able to see it, but from up close, it breaks my heart.. ) plus, i was thinking of a pretty radical look for the car, plus with a two piece rim, new bilsteins and tyres, the comfort level would increase dramatically..

what to do...what to do.....

arrghh..one of my xenon bulbs blew..:P at first thought it was the ballast, ( which would be covered under warranty ) but ended up being the bulb..luckily ( thankfully actually ) its been covered by warranty, so no issues there..

but that trip to the shop allowed me to try on the rials ( placing it next to the car anyways.. ) I've taken some pics and will post em later today..but i think i've committed to it already..i love em! hope everyone will love em too..

I agree with your girlfriend! I also think that the quality of those Rial wont match your car´s class.

Man, forget the 280´s on the back... You´ll hurt performance alot!

I think that upgrading OEM looks the best choice would be the AMG Monoblocks II 18´s. Beside that, Theres Brabus too or HRE Iforged they also have some wheels that can look really nice.

Best luck

A friend of mine who has a Golf R32 has bought them for his ride, 18´, it looks HOT!

19´s on your white W210 ....hum.....probably very nice.

Well, I don't like the AMGs..kinda boring, and not really fond of the Brabuses..plus the rims are way more expensive compared to the rials..
The rials quality and techonology looks pretty good, and seems like they're the number one rims in europe this year..

Five spoke is nice, but thinking of changing looks now..

I'm only going 265 , and not 280! that would be suicidal..

anyways, attached below are the pics with the rims placed for comparison...Thanks for the comments, but i guess I'll be getting them soon..

Hummmmm, thanks for the vote but the example of a Golf with the CHs is a bit discouraging tho yeah agree, a set of 19's would be very nice....but they'd be much heavier than my current ones

Hey I recognize that place....i think....

They do look quite nice in the sun........send me a good side pic of your car and I can do a proper Pshop for ya.....however, double check the offsets before you commit, I believe ET30 up back is going to rub severely.......
