FSS in Canada

I know I have asked this in another persons thread a while ago but here goes...

I have a 2004 bought in Feb 2004, so have had it for over a year. I have 13,500km on it and the FSS says next service in 8500km. Which takes it to about 22,000km. Which won't happen until this fall.

I thought at 1 year I was supposed to go in for an oil change or some kind of service.

So, are there any other Canadians that after 1 year it stated for them to come in for service?

Let me know.

FSS – it is what it is… The evaluation process depends on your driving habits: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/92554-service-e-class-211-usa.html

If there is a separate requirement for Canada as far as a fixed 1 year time interval for oil changes it would be my guess that it is stand alone and not monitored by FSS.

US MB dealers are allowed to change the oil for free at one year intervals or 10k miles under the free maintenance service. Call your dealer and ask what their policy is. I ignore the FSS unless the service message comes in sooner than expected and wouldn't be concerned if the monitoring was decontented.

At 11 months after we took delivery of our car, the FSS switched from counting down the miles (several thousand) to our next service, to counting down the days to the next service, starting at 30 days. Day "0" worked out to be exactly, or almost exactly, one year after we took delivery.

Our car was low-mileage at the time, like atssystems.com's. I have no idea why his FSS isn't behaving similarly.

At 10 months (12000 miles)FSS called for first oil change, next was just about 11 months (15000). Both short of the one year benchmark mentioned.
