How/where do you obtain your radio code?

I've read about people having to enter their radio code. Where do you find out what your radio code is? Or can the dealer retrieve it and/or reset it? I bought my car used, so if it's like the codes on other factory stereos I've used, I'd assume the original owner set it up.

I don't really need it, but it seems like one of those useful things to know...

You know . . . I don't think I remember reading anything about a radio code with the COMAND system. I could be wrong, but I just don't remember. All of my last few cars have always had a radio code, but I just did not think about it with this one.

This is an interesting point you borught up,

Steve

Are you asking about an anti-theft code number that has to be entered when a radio is installed, or if power to it is disconnected? FWIW, a year or so ago I left our E500's lights on (not an easy thing to do) and drained the battery. I disconnected the battery to trickle-charge it but when I reconnected it after charging, the audio system didn't ask me for any code; it just started right up.

These cars do not have radio codes. As far as I know, all of the newer cars with the radio more or less bolted to the car do not have radio codes. I guess the old DIN mount systems were easy to steal--just a few seconds and they were out. The new ones are so hard to remove that I do not think there is that much of a worry about a code.

The fact that these COMAND does not fit into Hondas may also be the reason why nobody steals them.
