Wheel Scratch Repairs

I am so ticked off at myself....

Over the weekend I used for the first time (stupidity) a wheel brush to clean my 18's and the damn brushed scratched all of my wheels. I've got the AMG 5 spoke that came with the sports package. The scratch is hair line fine.

Is there a way to polish or buff this off? Any help would be appreciated.

Or is this a sign for me to step up to HRE's???

Damn wheel brush!!!!

I'm sure you can use mild polishing compound on the rims to clear those buggers out. But, you can't rub harshly because it will penetrate the clearcoat. Hope the problem gets solved.

My wheel guy came out today to look at the wheels, it will cost me $100.00 each wheel to have it fixed. He will sand it down, paint it and refinish the wheel. Lessons learned!!!!

Wash your wheels before they take them. I had two of my porsche wheels fixed once. They only painted and fixed the outer rim edge. However, they clearcoated the entire wheel. They didn't clean the wheel and some of the brake dust is now sealed under the clearcoat. Not real noticeable, but I know its there.

Try McGuires swirl remover (I think it's #9). Go easy as others have advised so you don't strip off the clearcoat. And BTW s**tcan the wheel brush!!
