How to install V1

Im trying to hard wire my V1 to my 2003 E500. I have done a few of these installs in my friends A4 by useing the power from the grage door opener. but when i took apart my rear view mirror i found out that there are two groups of 3 or 4 wires. I need to know what one out of the wires is safe to tap in to for my power.

Search all the forums for Valentine threads (not just E) -- somebody posted about this with photos. I think it was a CLK which has the same overhead pod (the part with the sunroof controls) where there is an ignition-switched power wire, along with pictures demonstrating disassembly.

Had it done yesterday. (m)

Tapped into the fuse panel under the hood after locating a switched one. Ran the wire into the lower dash using a snake of sorts (3' plastic wire tie used in HVAC w/ ends clipped). Power source then used to fire up both the laser jammer and V1. Power wire fed acorss the dash behind everything again using the plastic piece. Power unit w/ fuse mounted under the pass side dash, with the "phone" power wire going to the unit run up the "A" pillar, across/under the visor and to the unit. Leave extra slack to move the V1 and replace the phone jack tips when they break, as they will after a time. Net result: No wires visible, no cutting & nothing that cannot be changed back easily.

As I stated earlier, search the forums and find the guy who did the V1 hardware install using the overhead pod in a CLK 500. He has many detailed photos, and the E500 has the same overhead pod.

If you don't mind mounting to the cigarette lighter power, I posted this. It's pretty simple. You could do it in an evening for sure.

I finally had a minute to locate the thread I mentioned with photos for overhead power.
