Poor phone sound quality of integrated phone
Hi everyone,
I have the intergrated motorola cell phone kit without voice control in my '03 E500. I have been repeatedly getting complaints from people I am calling, saying they can't understand me very well. What could be the cause of this problem and how can I get it fixed? Does anyone else have this? Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem with my '03 E500! People kept telling me there was a lot of background noise on my end. Solution? I traded up to an '05 E55! Hah! It has a v600 phone and I have had no complaints - friends say, "that sounds so much better!". Plus, of course, the upside of driving The Beast!!

Didn't mean to be a wiseass - seriously, see if you can change out the cradle and upgrade to a v600 or v710 phone. I do not know if the wiring will support it on the '03, but its definitely worth asking about. I don't know if its the v60 that was the problem, or the entire software package - bottom line, the '05 E-class phone system is apparently much improved over the '03.

I have the Motorola V60 along with the linguatronic system. When I first got it I had two problems: If I left the phone in the cradle and turned off the car for a few hours, the phone would not re-synchronize when I started the car again. The only way to get it to work was to remove the phone from the cradle and then re-insert it. The other problem was that people could hear themselves when they spoke. They always heard me fine.
The dealer ended up replacing the V60 with a newer V60 (even though they did not think that was the problem). Then they changed the Voice Control Module and another part in the main system. Every since they did that 5 months ago, the system has been absolutely perfect! I have tried to make it freeze, but it has been fine.
I will probably wait a couple of years before I switch to a GSM phone. I specifically wanted to keep a TDMA since I drive in areas where TDMA is still the only system that works.
