I currently have EXACTMATS laid on top of the factory mats in my C. They also make a trunk mat for the E and the C. In the winter, I have the factory all-season mats, which works pretty good and covers the foot rest as well.

Got a set for $60 from the dealer. I love it and they're pretty rugged!

mats...

I just bought a set of weathertech mats for my van a few months back. I picked up a set from the dealer and they are rugged (i.e. HEAVY DUTY) and worth the $$ IMO. I still think the weathertech will hold more water but i didn't like the red accent lines they have on them.

I also have the exactmats from the dealer for my E500. It wasn't expensive only 50 bucks for the set of 4. They are clear and fit perfectly over your stock mats. They work really well for me. Keeps the dirt, water, mud away from your carpet and real mats. Because they are clear you can still see the original mats with the mercedes logo.

When they do get dirty, a simply damp cloth with one or two wipes cleans it away.

For the folks with the exactmats, where did you get them from? I want to get the clear mats for my car. The ones they make seem like are better than most out there.

I tried their web page but it doesn’t say how. I have also sent them 2 emails asking where and/or how to get them but with no replies yet.

Thanks

Go to your dealer's parts department--they will have a rack of floormat options.

They'll also give a book listing all E-class accessories, which includes trunk luggage nets.

I like the rubber floormats.

Floormats are designed to be absorbant & to absorb the mess so that the carpeted floor is protected. (The carpet mats ARE the floor protector, not the part that needs protecting!) Hard mats allow the mess to run off & wet the carpeted floor! Why defeat the function of the floor's protective mats with a hard, clear plastic covering?

Use the mats, clean them when necessary, replace them after a couple of years if they need it. Unless you have clear plastic slip covers on your living room couch too.

The last 2 cars I owned, I bought a set of replacement mats for when they were too dirty to make me happy. Never opened them. The next owner got new mats in the trunk. Stupid me!

I have 2 kids and, the younger one really doesn’t “pay attention” where he puts his shoes before getting in the car. I don’t mind cleaning the mats when I have to but I don’t want to get to the point that they are black and just ugly dirty looking. If I can get some clear ones to put on top of the ones I have and really not care how dirty they get and are easy to clean, I want them.

I do have the rubber mats already but I don’t want to keep those in everyday (I don’t like them unless is really wet or there’s lotsa snow).

I figured these guys would do the job. Anyway, I called their phone number (duh) today and ordered a set (front and rear). If I don’t like them I can either sell them or put them in the trunk.

I did not get to the point of covering my leather sofa with the plastic slip covers yet…(hhhhmmmmmm)
