There's no way you can keep the amount of light output and still get the blue hue effect (the European spec lights might be able to give you a similar effect). The stock bulbs are there for a reason. They are brighter than than the Ultinon 6000K bulb.

4300K bulbs are brighter and whiter than 6000K. The higher you go up on the Kelvin scale, the dimmer the light output gets. I changed my bulbs to 6000K because I wanted a more purplish tinge on my lights. I did notice a drastic loss in light output during heavy rain or when the roads are wet. Changing to 6000K bulbs is an easy plug and play. It shouldn’t take you more than 10 minutes to swap your bulbs. Check this site for more info on Kelvin descriptions. http://www.hidplace.com/info.html
Just do a search on ebay for D2S 6000K bulbs. Try to stick with Osram or Philips bulbs.

People kept on saying anything above 4300K is less bright, but most don't realize they are still much brigher than anything halogen can give. Try looking at 6000k bulbs you'll probably go blind just as fast as if you stare at 4300k bulbs.
Best to get good quality HID bulbs such as Osram or Philips. The no name brands are not consistent in their quality and have shorter life.
